General Overview of Our Program
Silton Swim School offers a Monday through Friday, drop off and pick up, two-week minimum, half day or full day, swim program for children between the ages of 3 (Fully Potty Trained) and 14 years old.
Parents can choose between the Morning Session (8:45am-11:45am), Afternoon Session (12:45 PM-3:45 PM), or the Full Day session (8:45 AM-3:45 PM/pack a lunch). During the half day enrollment, students will receive three (3) half hour lessons per day, within a three hour session. This will total 30 swim lessons during our minimum two-week, half day enrollment. During the full day enrollment, students will receive six (6) half hour lessons within a seven hour enrollment. This will total 60 swim lessons during our two-week, full day enrollment. Full day students must pack a daily lunch.
We have two heated pools (86 degrees) where we conduct our group lessons. Our large pool, which is for ages 5 and older, is a 25 yard, 6 lane pool. Our large pool measures 75 feet long by 45 feet wide. Our small pool, which is for our 3 & 4 year olds, is 3 feet in depth and measures 45 feet long by 28 feet wide.
In between lessons, students will have some down time for activities in our sandbox or field areas. Even though students are attending for three or seven hours per day, lessons will be conducted for a half hour out of each hour. 3 & 4 year olds will spend their out of pool time playing in our supervised sandbox area. Ages 5 and older will spend their out of pool time with our field staff participating in age appropriate sports activities.
At Silton Swim School, we group all children according to their age, not their ability. Each class consists of two, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified, swim instructors. Each child is individually taught based on their own ability and skill level. Class sizes will average 10 students per session. Aside from all of our teachers being lifeguard certified, we have three lifeguards on duty during each session.
Silton Swim School offers a swim program in conjunction with Wall Township, Manasquan and Point Pleasant Boro Recreation Departments. Please visit our "Registration" page to find out more information.
At Silton Swim School, we believe that communication between staff and parents is very important. Please feel encouraged to speak with your child's instructors on a daily basis at drop off and pick up. We offer a demonstration each Saturday morning for parents to come and watch what their child has learned and accomplished during each week they attend Silton.
Students can begin on any Monday during our ten week summer season. Please call our office to check availability as it is constantly changing.
